Work Experience

We work with the Southwest Work Experience Partnership (SWEP) to manage all work experience placements at Hill View School. SWEP uses the Veryan LINK2 system to organise placements, complete health and safety checks, and generate all required paperwork for schools.

Each student will receive a unique PIN code, which they can use to log into the Veryan LINK2 system here: Link2 - Welcome. Through LINK2, students can search for employers who have previously offered work experience across the region. The system provides details about each placement, including the type of work involved, hours, location and contact information. Students can then use these details to contact employers and begin the application process.

Once a student has agreed a placement with an employer, the school Careers Leader logs the details on LINK2. SWEP then completes all necessary checks and notifies the school once the placement has been approved.

Students may also approach employers not currently listed in the database. In this case, they will be given paperwork for the employer to complete so they can be added to the system. SWEP will then carry out the required checks. The standard time for approving a new provider, including all checks, is approximately six weeks.
