The Oak Partnership Trust Statement

The Department for Education (DfE) published revised statutory guidance for Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE), which came into force from 1 September 2026. The Oak Partnership and its schools are currently reviewing their PSHE and RSHE policies to ensure they fully reflect the updated requirements and continue to meet the needs of our pupils and communities.

During the 2026–27 academic year, schools will undertake a programme of policy review and parental consultation. This will include opportunities for parents and carers to view draft policies, curriculum overviews and representative teaching materials, in line with the new statutory expectations relating to transparency and engagement.

Updated policies will be presented to Local School Committees for ratification following consultation. Final approved versions of all PSHE and RSHE policies will be published on both school and Trust websites by the end of the Autumn Term 2026.

In the meantime, schools will continue to deliver PSHE and RSHE in line with current statutory requirements, safeguarding expectations and the Trust's commitment to promoting positive relationships, wellbeing, personal safety and preparation for adulthood.
